This is my first ever post, so this is quite crazy. I’ve decided to use this blog as update on my life, things that affect me, random things and most of all Book reviews.  I also will take suggestions! :D

(Warning this post may contain spoilers, lulz of course it does!)

I just finished this book today, Untamed by P.C. Cast + Kristen Cast. It is the fourth book in the series, The House of Night.

Untamed Book Cover

The series follows Zoey Redbird, a girl who was marked as a fledgling, which  means that in a few years she may turn into a vampyre. In this world, the people know about the existence of vampyres and most famous people (shows allusions to actual celebrities) are vampyres as well. But these are a different kind of vampyres than most are accustomed to. The fledglings have a crescent moon on their forehead. Adult vampire have more markings. The House of Night is a boarding school for fledglings in Tusla, Oklahoma. They are taught different subjects than a normal high school  and day is night for the fledglings. Zoey learns that she is special, having more marks than her peers and having an affinity for all five elements (Wind, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit).

In this novel, the High Priestess for the school, Neferet, declares war on the humans after the death of two teachers. Also, her best friends at the school have stopped trusting her after all of the things Zoey didn’t tell them. Zoey’s recent ex-boyfriend Erik also hates her, after she had an affair with one of the dead teachers, Loren Blake, who used her. She also has broken her Imprint with her human ex-boyfriend, Heath, who she hasn’t spoken to. And on top of all that, her best friend, Stevie Rae, died and was brought back to life as a different kind of fledgling who has lost their humanity and thirsts for blood, a red fledgling. Stevie Rae is finally has her humanity back to normal, but she is kept hidden from the school.

This novel compared to the first, had you reeled in from the beginning. It made you feel empathy for Zoey and you hoped her friends would come to their senses. The story is pretty action packed, with pauses for relief at all the right times. The ending really made me want to crack open the next book and start reading. This series is highly addictive and won’t disappoint. The growth in these characters are wonderful and the Aphrodite and Zoey relationship is comical.

Rating: Three and a half stars
